2. Purchase Price
The total purchase price for the puppy is [InsertAmount]. A non−refundable deposit of $500 is required to secure the puppy. The remaining balance of $[Insert Amount] is due upon pickup.
3. Deposit Terms
The $500 deposit is non-refundable, especially if the puppy is not picked up after 12 weeks of age and the remaining balance has been unpaid. If the buyer fails to pick up the puppy within this time frame, the deposit will be forfeited, and the puppy may be made available for sale to other buyers.
4. Health Guarantee
The breeder guarantees that the puppy is in good health at the time of sale and has been selectively bred from a lineage known for its genetic soundness. The buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 10 days of the purchase date. If a genetic health issue is confirmed, the breeder may offer a replacement puppy or a refund of the purchase price, excluding deposits. See Health Guarantee Addendum for details.
5. Buyer Responsibilities
The buyer agrees to:
Provide proper care, nutrition, and training for the puppy.
Obtain pet insurance within 14 days of purchase and provide proof of insurance to the breeder.
Have the puppy examined by a veterinarian within 10 days of purchase and provide a copy of the health report to the breeder.
6. Limitations of Liability
The breeder is not liable for any health issues that arise after the puppy leaves their care, except for those covered under the health guarantee. The buyer agrees to indemnify and hold the breeder harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from the puppy's ownership. The buyer agrees to not breed the purchased puppy/dog.
7. Right of First Refusal
If the buyer can no longer keep the puppy, the breeder has the right of first refusal to take the puppy back before the buyer attempts to re-home it. The buyer agrees to involve the breeder during the re-homing process.
8. Microchip Registration
The puppy already micro-chipped, and the breeder will remain the primary contact until the buyer registers the microchip in their name as the second owner.
9. Dispute Resolution
In the event of any disputes arising from this agreement, the parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing any legal action. If a court deems any portion unenforceable, the parties’ rights and remedies shall be governed by applicable Colorado law.
10. Acknowledgment
By signing this purchase agreement, the buyer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms outlined herein.
